This is the plaque I did for Phyllis. Delivered it Friday and she really seemed to like it.
Jessica, on the other hand, hasn’t said a thing about her box. I’d send an email and ask, but don’t want to face any rejection.
Meantime, I have internet orders for four more boxes and I’m trying to get new product ready for the two shows this week.
Busy, busy, busy!

The finished box. It goes to the PO later this morning and Jessica should have it Wednesday or Thursday. Now to finish the plaque for Phyllis and get ready for this Friday’s craft show.

By golly, it all fits. Still some sanding and finishing to do but the end is in sight. Hopefully it goes in the mail Monday AM.

Here is the booth as it appeared yesterday at Val Vista Lakes. Ever evolving, someday it will get to where it needs to be.

Still working on it Jessica
The lid is still not right. There are some places where the resin didn’t completely fill the thin lines so did another pour after the craft show this afternoon. Hopefully it will be ready to sand before quitting time tonight.
As to the craft show it wasn’t great but still far from the worst I’ve done. Folks still have a firm grip on their wallets.

This is the case that will be under that lid: walnut with a half tray . The bottoms of the box and tray will be lined in black felt.
-
The lid to Jessica’s box as it was at the start of the day. The flowers that fit in the flower-shaped cutouts are bloodwood; the remainder of the openings will be filled with colored fiberglass resin.
Credit for the design goes to Jessica. She put it together and sent it to me for implementation.

Thinking Straight
On Tuesdays I do better arithmetic: it will only be six days to get everything done between shows, not 10-11.

Box for Jessica
Today was primarily spent on cutting out the pattern on the lid of the box I’m building for Jessica. Overall the pattern was only moderately complex, but the flowers are turning out to be a bit tedious. Hopefully, they - the flowers - will be finished tomorrow morning.
Also tomorrow will be work on the fox plaque (intarsia) for Phyllis. This one is simpler but getting the fox’s expression right may require a couple of tries.
The weekend was spent on some production work required for the craft show circuit. More of this will be required this week to be ready for the Val Vista Lakes show on Saturday. Then I’ll have to do a lot more of the same as, after a 10-11 day break, I’ll do three shows in eight days: Mesa, Scottsdale and Chandler. You have to be ready for anything since you never know what is going to sell.
